Residents from 'hot spots' in Thane immerse Lord Ganpati idols at their homes: Thane collector

Thane, Aug 13 (UNI) The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has said that residents who come under the 'hot spots' in the city should not come out of their houses for immersion of the Lord Ganpati idols during upcoming Ganeshotsav.
An official release issued on Wednesday said that as per the instructions of the Municipal commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma all those residing in the areas, classified as hot spots in the city, will immerse their idols at home itself.
They should not take out the idols for immersion, it said.
To avoid crowds during immersion of the idols from the areas other than the hot spots, the Corporation has come out with the system of booking online time slots for the immersion.
The devotees can avail of this facility, which will be opened on August 14, the release said.
It also said that the Corporation has made facilities of as many as 13 artificial ponds for immersion and 20 idol collection centres.
In Kalyan-Dombivili, civic commissioner Dr Vijay Suryavanshi said that the idols will be collected from the doorsteps itself,
