Rajouri-Poonch Range Police organises ‘Run for Unity’ against drugs

Jammu, Mar 26 (UNI) To counter the increasing menace of drugs among the youth and the masses as well as to prevent the abuse and growing drug addiction, the Rajouri-Poonch Range Police organised a mega run for unity against drugs at Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.
As a part of the Civic Action Programme and in order to spread awareness about drug abuse in the society, a march ‘Run For Unity’ against drugs to spread the message, say ‘No to drugs & Yes to Life’ was organized.
Five hundred plus personnel of different security forces, members of Civil Society, Students of Degree College Rajouri, HEM School, International School, J&K Police Public School and Govt. HSS participated in the event.
The march started from DPL Rajouri and culminated at DPL after covering Gujjar Mandi chowk, Salani Bridge, Old town, City Markets and Panja Chowk.
Prominent youth leaders from different Political parties and Social groups of Rajouri also participated along with their teams/groups in the event.
The march was flagged off by DIG RP Range Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal in presence of senior officers of the district Police, IRP and CRPF.
At the culmination, Dr. Mughal thanked the participants for exhibiting tremendous enthusiasm and support in spreading this noble message amongst the masses.
This Civic Action Programme is part of a series of efforts under ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ initiated by J&K Police to spread awareness about drug abuse and addiction.

Dehra, May 29 (UNI) District Congress Committee spokesperson Sapan Sood met the State Health Minister Col. Dhaniram Shandil at the PWD rest house at Dehragopipur, and demanded that on February 21, 2015, by the then Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh laid foundation stone for proposed station canteen and E.C.H. for ex-servicemen of the area and a Polyclinic.
Taking cognizance of the delay in the construction of the polyclinic building, steps were taken in this direction. Sapan Sood said that as the name of Dr. (Col.) Dhaniram Shandil as the then Minister of Military Welfare is also mentioned on this foundation stone plaque, this issue was sensitive due to the atrocity on the rights of ex-servicemen for the last eight years.
