Rain god all set to break record

Bhopal, Sep 11 (UNI) The southwest monsoon appears all set to shatter a 13-year-old record in the Madhya Pradesh capital!
“In 2006; 1,589 mm precipitation was witnessed till September 11 and that entire season experienced 1,600 mm. This year, the gauge has already measured 1,560.6 mm,” senior meteorologist AK Shukla told UNI here.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation’s Flood Control Cell Officer Rakesh Nigam said that all eight gates of the Kolar barrage were opened on Tuesday after an interval of 13 years. Water is also flowing out of the Kaliasot, Kerwa and Bhadbhada dams. The Upper Lake attained full-tank level.

Bhopal, Jan 25 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath emphasised on Saturday that his cherished dream is to ensure the state is compared with the country’s leading – and not backward – ones.
“For achieving progress, it is vital that the system and the people effectuate a revolutionary change in their thinking and attitudes as collective endeavours yield better outcomes,” he was officially quoted as saying in Indore while dedicating to the public the Dwaar Praday Yojana envisaging rapid providing of five services to citizens. Madhya Pradesh is the maiden state to launch such a scheme.
