New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) Extending support to the nationwide strike - Bharat bandh - called by more than 10 trade unions and participating by over 25 crore workers, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the Narendra Modi government's 'anti-people and anti-labour' policies have created catastrophic unemployment in the country.
"The Modi-Shah goverment's anti people, anti labour policies have created catastrophic unemployment and are weakening our PSUs to justify their sale to Modi’s crony capitalist friends." Mr Gandhi tweeted.
"Today, over 25 crore workers have called for 'Bharat Bandh 2020' in protest", Mr Gandhi said and added "I salute them".
The conglomeration of ten central trade unions, CTUs, had given the call for a 24 hour strike, starting from Wednesday morning, with a 12-point charter of demand.
