Punjab govt, University of Birmingham to join hands for harnessing sporting talent of state

Chandigarh, Sep 2 (UNI) Punjab Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi on Monday said the University of Birmingham (UK) would join hands with the Punjab government in harnessing the enormous sporting talent that the state possesses.
The sporting infrastructure in the Maharaja Bhupindra Singh Sports University, Patiala will be developed and assistance rendered in strengthening and streamlining the academic programme of the University.
This was stated by the Minister during a meeting with a high-level delegation, comprising British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Ayre, Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching, University of Birmingham Dr Martin Toms and India Country Institute Director Dipankar Chakraborty.
