Punjab beat Goa 2-1 to enter into finals of Santosh Trophy

Ludhiana, Apr 19 (UNI) Punjab reached to the finals of 15th Hero Santosh Trophy after beating Goa by a 2-1 margin here at the Guru Nanak Stadium on Friday.

Punjab started off the match with great enthusiasm and it was Jaspreet who scored the first goal for them in the 12th minute.
After the first goal, Goa increased their intensity on the field which helped them to gain more possession over the ball. But Goa were not able to score the equaliser goal after the end of first half .
In the second half, Goa came out with all guns blazing. However, after trailing for most of the game, Goa equalized just before the clock hit 90 minutes.
But it took only a few moments for hosts Punjab to strike the net for the second time. Harjinder Singh scored the winning goal on this occasion to put the home side into the final.
In another match, Services will face Karnataka in the semifinals at Ludhiana on Friday evening.
The final will be played on Sunday.
