Sabarimala, Nov 23 (UNI) Prohibitory orders clamped under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in Pamba, Ilavunkal, Nilakkal and Sannidanam have been extended till Monday.
Pathanamthitta District Collector P B Nooh has extended the prohibitory orders on Thursday night based on various reports from officials concerned including District Superintendent of Police T Narayanan.
Mr Nooh said the prohibitory orders, which had already came into effect from November 17, was further extended till midnight of November 26.
However, no restriction was imposed on devotees coming in groups and chanting 'Ayyappa mantras.'
The Collector extended the prohibitory orders even there was several complaints and demands for its withdrawal.
The Kerala High Court had also criticised the State Government for clamping prohibitory orders at Sabarimala.
