New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the people of Jharkhand on statehood day on Thursday.
Greeting people, Mr Kovind said the state is blessed with vast natural resources and a rich culture that the country is proud of.
'The state is blessed with vast natural resources and a rich culture that we are all proud of. May Jharkhand go from strength to strength in the years to come,' Mr Kovind said in a tweet.
Mr Modi wished the state growth and glory in future.
'Greetings to the people of Jharkhand on their Statehood Day. With the blessings of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, may this state scale new heights of growth and glory in the coming years”, the Prime Minister said in a statement.
Parliament passed the Bihar Reorganization Bill to create the state of Jharkhand, carving 18 districts out of Bihar to form the new state on November 15, 2000.
On that day it became the 28th state of India.
