Pranab emphasises on progress through tech

New Delhi, Nov 3 (UNI) Stressing on the taking advantage of technology, Former President Pranab Mukherjee said through technology distances are covered not only in terms of geography but also in terms of progress and development.
The strength of a nation is reflected by its health and economic status of women, children and young population, stressed Mr Mukherjee at the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Hans Foundation here on Saturday.
He congratulated the organisation for their contribution in the fields of health, education, among others.
The Bharat Ratna awardee said the country still faces illiteracy, poverty and unemployment among other social evils.
The 10th anniversary celebration of The Hans Foundation was inaugurated by Mr Mukherjee, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Samaj Sevi Mata Mangla ji and Bhole Ji Maharaj, Hans Foundation President Shweta Rawat, Co-founder Manoj Bhargava and Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Singh Thakur.
