Poland extends coach Heynen's contract to 2021 for postponed Tokyo Olympics

Warsaw, May 2 (Xinhua)The Polish Volleyball Federation (PZPS) announced on Friday that the men's national team coach, Vital Heynen has signed a new contract until October 2021 in order to lead the world champions at the Tokyo Olympic Games.
The federation explained that reason for extending the contract, which was to expire in September 2020, is the postponement of the Olympic Games to 2021. After taking over the team in 2018, the Belgian lead the team to the FIVB World Championships, and also coached the team to bronze medals at the Euro Volley last year.
"In December 2019, when Vital was in Warsaw with the Perugia team, we met and it turned out that both sides were interested in extending the contract," said the president of the Polish Volleyball Federation Jacek Kasprzyk in an interview with Polish media.
