PM’s congratulatory phone call with PM Jugnauth of Mauritius

New Delhi, Nov 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday warmly congratulated Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth on his victory in the just-concluded elections in the Indian Ocean nation.

Offering his congratulations, Mr Modi noted that the people of Mauritius had reposed their faith in the leadership of Prime Minister Jugnauth. This, he said, attested to their support of the development-oriented policies of his Mauritian Government.

During their telephonic conversation, he reiterated India’s commitment to continue the close and extensive cooperation between the two countries for mutual benefit.

Reciprocating, Prime Minister Jugnauth thanked Mr Modi and expressed desire to take forward this special relationship with India and further strengthen bilateral cooperation. He also thanked the Indian Government for the presence of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh as the Chief Guest at the recent Aapravasi Divas celebrations.

Mr Jugnauth accepted the invitation extended by his Indian counterpart to visit India at his early convenience, an official release here said.
