Parl panel on IT seeks public views on data security, privacy

New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Information Technology has invited suggestions from the public and other stake holders on data security and privacy.
The panel headed by Member of Parliament Anurag Singh Thakur is examining various aspects related to the subject ‘Citizens’ data security and Privacy’.
"In view of the immense importance of the subject, the Committee for the purpose of wider consultations invites suggestions from the public in general and experts, professionals, organizations, associations and stakeholders interested in the subject in particular." an official statement said on Friday.
The panel has set a deadline of June 2 for submitting the views in either in Hindi in two copies the Director (C&IT), Lok Sabha Secretariat.
It said those interested in giving oral evidence before the Committee, besides sending memoranda, may intimate the Lok Sabha Secretariat to this effect well in advance .
