PAFI announces new office Bearers for 2019-20

New Delhi, May 2 (UNI) Public Affairs Forum of India, the premier body for public and corporate

affairs professionals, has appointed new office bearers for the year 2018-19.

Mr Raman Sidhu, Chairman, EBG Federation, India (erstwhile European Business Group), has taken over as the new president, a statement said on Thursday.

Mr Sidhu’s career spanned over three decades as an Investment Banker and a Corporate Banker. He has also served as an Independent Director on the Boards of various MNCs including G4S and

Deutsche Postbank Home Finance as well as PSUs such as BHEL, NHPC, IILFS & NTC. He has served as a Member of the Core Committee on Corporate Governance of 5 of the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs.

He has in the past also served as a consultant to the Industry Minister of Trinidad and Tobago on

behalf of the Commonwealth Secretariat, London. He is a Life Trustee of the Foundation for Aviation and Sustainable Tourism and a Member of the Council of SpeakIn Bureau. He is a Member of the National Executive Committee of FICCI.

He takes over the role of president, PAFI, from Dr KC Ravi, Chief Sustainability Officer, Syngenta India Ltd, upon completion of his successful term.

Mr Ishteyaque Amjad, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Coca-Cola India Pvt Ltd, has taken over as the new vice-president of the organisation. Mr Amjad served in the Indian Army and then later joined the corporate world. He has worked across infrastructure, technology and FMCG industry.

Dr Subhajyoti Ray, president, Internet & Mobile Association of India, is the new Secretary. Before joining IAMAI, Subho was Director for the ICT vertical at the Confederation of Indian Industry in New Delhi, where he worked since 1998, closely with the software & services, BPM, hardware and telecom industries. He is a trained historian having read history at the Presidency College, Kolkata and JNU, New Delhi.

Ms Ankhi Das, Public Policy Director – India, South & Central Asia, Facebook India Online Services Pvt Ltd, is the new Treasurer of PAFI.

No impact of slowdown on home furnishing segment: Guj entrepreneur

Ahmedabad, Jan 25 (UNI) The economic slowdown, affecting major sectors like automobile, manufacturing and real estate in the country, has failed to dent the home furnishing segment, which continued an upward trend, registering bumper sales of bed-sheets, towels and similar products, a renowned Gujarat-based businessman, said on Saturday.
According to Sudarshan Golecha, founder of Trecento Store Pvt Ltd, that owns the leading Vintana brand for bed, bath and decor segments, more than 23 crore branded bed-sheets were being sold each year across the country and if the non-branded items are also included the number would be manifold higher.
