One arrested with counterfeit currency notes worth Rs 2.98 lakh in Thane

Thane, Nov 18 (UNI) The city police have arrested a man here and seized from him counterfeit currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination collectively worth Rs 2.98 lakh.
Acting on a tip off, a team of the Central Crime Unit of the city police laid a trap near a cinema house in Charai area of the city on Wednesday evening and nabbed the alleged accused Riaz Abdul Rahiman Sikilkar (37), police said on Thursday.
During the search of his person, they found 149 counterfeit notes of Rs 2,000 denomination with him.
