O'Brien denies "systemic racism" in the police force

Washington, May 31 (UNI) United States National security adviser Robert O'Brien on Sunday denied the existence of "systemic racism" in the police force.
Sputnik quoted O'Brien saying "No, I don't think there's systemic racism. I think 99.9 percent of our law enforcement officers are great Americans,".He felt that there were some "bad apples" among police personnel who might be racist, due to which an impression of racism existing in the police forces has been created. "There is no doubt that there are some racist police, I think they are the minority. I think they are the few bad apples and we need to root them out," O'Brien he stated.
He was speaking at CNN's State of the Union show.Several US cities witnessed violence on Saturday, sparked by the death of an unarmed African American man named George Floyd, in police custody in Minneapolis on Monday. What started as anti-racism protests soon morphed into vandalism and looting.
