Noted Poet Pasupuleti Purnachandra Rao passes away, CM condoles

Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Noted Poet and Theatre personality Pasupuleti Purnachandra Rao passed away at his residence due to illness here on Friday.

He was 71.
He was a recipient of National Film Award for Best Book on cinema in (2014) titled as ''Silent Cinema'' (1895-1930).

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has expressed condolences over the death of Purnachandra Rao.

In a message, the Chief Minister said that the services rendered by Purnachandra Rao as poet, film, theatre critic can never be forgotten.

Mr Rao conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family.

HC directs CB-CID to file status report in Sathankulam custodial deaths

Madurai, Jul 9 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Thursday directed the Crime Branch CID (CB-CID) Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar, who is the investigation officer (IO) of the custodial deaths of a father-son duo, P Jayaraj and J Bennicks, to file a status report by July 28 on the actions taken so far in the case.
