No Tobacco Day observed by consumer voice at Ambala

Ambala, May 31 (UNI) World No Tobacco Day was observed by Consumer Voice on Thursday, to create awareness and encourage people to reduce or completely stop tobacco consumption in any form all over the world.
Consumer Voice Convenor Kavita Purohit said the World No Tobacco Day 2018 focused on the impact of tobacco on the cardiovascular health of people worldwide.
The speakers spoke to create awareness about ill effects of tobacco and how the government and public have to play an important role in the present scenario.
She disclosed that Citizen Awareness Group was organising workshops, seminars and talks in collaboration with local voluntary organizations, working for the social upliftment.
A panel discussion by the experts was held, which was followed by question answer session by the public. Dr HK Kharbanda from Chandigarh spoke on the activities of Consumer Voice.
