Kharagpur, Feb 21 (UNI) IIT Kharagpur researchers have exposed the rising trends of Nitrogen Dioxide - a chemical air pollutant whose higher levels can cause respiratory problems and cardiovascular diseases - in India's villages, by conducting a rare analysis of the rural air quality
using satellite measurements of NO2.

Mizoram plans to declare ASF outbreak as ‘state disaster’

Aizawl, Oct 9 (UNI) Mizoram Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister C. Lalsawivunga on Wednesday announced that the state government is working on legal and administrative formalities to declare the ongoing African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak as a ‘state disaster.’
Speaking at an event for disbursement of compensation to families affected by culling of pigs due to the ASF outbreak, coupled with a workshop on the disease, Lalsawivunga said that the state had sought the Centre’s assistance to procure drugs and vaccines to tackle ASF, and if unavailable domestically, to facilitate their import from abroad.
