Nadda, Shah remember Sushma on her 68th Jayanti

New Delhi, Feb 14 (UNI) BJP president JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday paid tributes to former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on her 68th birth anniversary.

'I salute her former External Affairs Minister and senior and distinguished leader, Didi Sushma Swaraj on the birth anniversary,' Mr Nadda said on mocro-blogging site Twitter.

He said she was an ideal worker who established a role model in politics through her humility, ingenuity, sharp oratory style and devotion, adding that ' We will always get inspiration from her'.

Mr Shah also paid tributes to 'an exceptional leader Sushma Swaraj ji on her jayanti'.

'A disciplined karyakarta, a fierce orator and an outstanding parliamentarian who never compromised on her ideals. She will always be remembered for her kind nature & helping the distressed in their trying times,' he said in his tweet.

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal also wrote,'My tributes to ever smiling Sushma Didi on her birth anniversary, for giving courage in difficult times and for giving us such affection.

'She would go untimely, this could not be even imagined. In my memories, Didi will always live as an inspiration and a role model.'

In recognition of the invaluable contribution of the former External Affairs Minister, the Modi government on Thursday has renamed Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra in the national Capital as Sushma Swaraj Bhawan and Foreign Service Institute, Delhi as Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service.

Sushma Swaraj died on August 6 here at the AIIMS following cardiac arrest. A nine-time parliamentarian, she did not contest Lok Sabha elections last year. She is remembered for her legacy as an easily-accessible foreign minister, always ready to extend assistance to the needy.
