Missing girl found murdered in Nashik

Nashik, Jun 13 (UNI) A five-year-old girl who has been missing since
last 14 days, was found murdered at Awali Dumla village in Igatpuri
taluka of the district on Wednesday.
Girl Kiran Ramesh Jamdhade of Awali Dumla had been missing since
last 14 days and her father had registered a missing complaint at
the Ghoti police station, alleging that one of the girl's paternal
uncles Gopinath Dattu Jamdhade had abducted her from Ghoti.
Acting on the complaint, a Local Crime Branch squad arrested the
suspect from a hotel in Shahapur in neighbouring Thane district and
brought him to Ghoti today.
During questioning, he told the police that he tried to lure the
girl with a chocolate and tried to rape on her but when she began
shouting, he hit the girl with a stone and then throttled her to
death.
Later, he buried the body in a nullha near the village, he told
police.
Then, a team reached the spot where the girl's body was buried and
exhumed it after a search this morning.
Following which, police arrested Gopinath and filed a criminal case
against him, sources added.
