Miscreants pelt stones at BJP's Rath Yatra

Kannur, Nov 8 (UNI) Miscreants pelted stones at BJP's 'Sabarimala Protection Rath Yatra' led by Kerala BJP President P S Sreedharan Pillai and NDA Convener Thushar Vellappally at Kalikadavu in Kasaragod on Thursday evening.
BJP National Executive Committee member and former State President P K Krishna Das alleged that CPI(M) workers were behind the stone pelting at the Yatra that began from Madhur Shree Madanantheshwara Siddhivinayaka Temple at Kasargod this morning.
However, no one was injured in the incident.
Alleging the incident happened with the knowledge of the ruling LDF government and CPI(M) leadership, Mr Krishna Das said police have not shown interest to arrest the culprits.
Later, a warm reception was accorded to the Yatra at Payyannur in Kannur. On Friday, public funtions would be held at Dharmadam and Thalassery. The Yatra will then proceed to Wayanad district.
Mr Krishna Das also said that NDA will observe 'protest day' on Friday against the alleged attack.
