Milky Moo Championship East Zone Feeder & Sub Junior Tour launches in Kolkata

Kolkata, Apr 3 (UNI) Milk Mantra, India's 1st VC funded agri food & beverage startup,
today announced the Milky Moo Championship East Zone Feeder & Sub Junior Tour
at a press conference held at Royal Calcutta Golf Club.
This season marks the second year of Milk Mantra’s association with the Indian
Golf Union East Zone Feeder & Sub Junior Tour after a successful involvement in
2017.
On this occasion, Srikumar Misra, Founder and MD of Milk Mantra said, “With a
focus on ‘Nutrition & Health’ Milk Mantra is actively building a sports platform which
will make adults and children aware of the nutritional quality of foods they consume.
We have been working closely with sports professionals to reach out to sports
communities within East India to encourage young adults through various sports
tournaments.”
“Last season too, we had associated with the East Zone feeder tour and the spirit
and enthusiasm the kids displayed meant they need as much support and
encouragement as kids playing other sports.Beside golf, we also have the Milky Moo
Tennis Championship and are actively looking at a junior football league too. We intend
to supportsports programs and events as we know the future champions and Olympians
are going to emerge from the juniors who are playing the game today,” he said.
The 7th season of the tour will travel to top six golf clubs of the region starting from
Jamshedpur and then moving to Shillong, Bhubaneswar and finally a double-header
in Kolkata.
There are five age categories in which the up & coming talent will compete and the
order of merit toppers at the conclusion of the season will qualify for the IGU Feeder
Tour National Finals.One of the two National Finals will be hosted in the east.
Last year, Samridh Sen (Category A), Aroush Tagore (Category B), Ramayush Ray
(Category C), Anshul Mishra (Category D) topped the Boys Order of Merit while Vasavi
Modi (Category A), Vibha Nath (Category B), Karishma Samadder (Category C) and
Anaahat Bindra (Category D) were perched atop the Girls Order of Merit.
Prashant Agarwal clinched the Open Category E honors.
“The IGU takes great pride in conducting opportunities for young promising kids to
showcase their talent and commitment to the game. The Feeder Tour is a part of the
same endeavour. We are delighted that Milky Moo has chosen to support the full 7th
season,” said Satbinder Singh, Chairman – East Zone Council, Indian Golf Union.
The first event of the season, Beldih Juniors teed off today at Beldih Club in
Jamshedpur and the two day championship will be followed by Golmuri Juniors on
April 5-6 at Golmuri Club.
