Manipur lifts Polo international trophy defeating England

Imphal, Nov 29 (UNI) India B (Manipur) defeated England 6-5 in a thrilling final of the 13th Manipur Polo International 2019 played at the historic Imphal polo ground here today.
Both the teams were tied 1-1 in the first chukker but Manipur took a comfortable lead of 4-2 in the second chukker. England managed to level the goal in the last chukker at 5-5 however in the last minute the Manipur players managed to score a beautiful goal and win the trophy.
Governor Dr Najma Heptulla who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest said she was humbled to walk on the hallowed polo ground of Mapal Kangjeibung which is said to be the oldest polo ground in use in the world.
