Manipur Assembly resolves to end crisis through dialogue, Constitutional norms

Imphal, Aug 29 (UNI) Manipur Assembly on Tuesday resolved to work for the oneness and harmony of all the people of Manipur, irrespective of caste, community, region, religion, or language.
Held after a gap of six months in the aftermath of clashes between two ethnic groups, the one-day session also resolved that "as peace is the priority of the state, this house will strive to resolve all the differences among the people, till complete peace returns to the entire state, through dialogue and constitutional means."
The House also resolved to appeal to each and every individual not to pay heed to divisionary elements, maintain peace, and shun violence in the interest of our state and nation.

Vigilance along border in run-up to election in Meghalaya

Shillong, April 15 (UNI) Vigilance by the police and paramilitary forces has been mounted along the Meghalaya-Assam inter-state boundary and the international border that the state shares with neighbouring Bangladesh in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled for April 19.
Meanwhile, in a significant joint operation conducted on Monday, the troops of BSF Meghalaya Frontier and Meghalaya Police seized a huge quantity of dry betel nuts from the bordering area of the South Garo Hills district of the state.
