Maidan giants dominate in First Division Group A

Kolkata, Jan 14 (UNI) Maidan giants East Bengal and Mohun Bagan ended the day in
a dominating position against their opponents as the former lead by 356 runs over
George Telegraph while Bhowanipur trail by 215 runs against Mariners in CAB First
Division Group A.
EB declared on 414/8 thanks to Pankaj Shaw (144 not out) and Sreevats Goswami
(109) tons and later B Amit and Arnab Nandi combined up to reduce George to 58/5
at the end of the first day.
Resuming the day on 294/6 Bagan scored 382 losing all wickets riding on Rajkumar
Pal's 58 while Bhowanipur bowler Sandipan Das registered a five-wicket haul.
Bhowanipur batter Abhishek Das remained unbeaten on 88.
In other matches Town Club skipper led from the front to stay unbeaten on 80 and
post 221/6 against Aryan Club while Sourav Chanda (101) century powered Tapan
Memorial to 278/6 against Shambazar.
