Maha: MPCC chief reiterates demand for DGP Shukla

Mumbai, Oct 31 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president, Nana Patole, on Thursday reiterated the demand that Director General of Police (DGP) Rashmi Shukla, who is a controversial and helpful officer of ruling BJP, should be removed immediately from the post as it is feared that the upcoming state assembly elections will not be conducted in a fair and transparent manner.
Even as the assembly election is around the corner, the Election Commission has not yet removed Rashmi Shukla from the post despite the Congress party had sent letters on September 24 and October four, to EC in this regard, he complained.
On other hand, when BJP demanded removal of the DGP of West Bengal and Jharkhand, they were replaced immediately, but the same EC has not yet removed the DGP of Maharashtra, he noted.
