LG reviews preparedness of greening agencies for achieving plantation targets

New Delhi, June 29 (UNI) Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Anil Baijal on Friday reviewed the preparedness of all greening agencies for achieving their plantation targets as per the plantation schedule submitted by the agencies/departments.
In the meeting, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest made a detailed presentation about Delhi’s forest cover within and outside green wash, district-wise forest cover, annual plantation by Forest Department, targets allotted to various greening agencies and tree species suitable for plantation by them.
The LG was apprised that the proposed target of the tree and shrub saplings for all greening agencies in NCT of Delhi for 2018-19 is about 28 lakhs (Major Heads are DDA : 10,00,000, Forest Department : 4,25,000, PWD : 2,75,000, Education : 1,25,000 approx).
