LG launches rollable OLED TV in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 24 (UNI) LG Electronics (LG) launched world’s only rollable OLED TV, LG Signature OLED R at Audio & Beyond, Jubilee Hills, here on Friday.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, LG Electronics India, Business Head, Home Entertainment Gireesan Gopi said that due to the Pandemic situation, the people are not able to go out freely still now. They want a stadium-like experience at their home itself. They also want a high and premium cinema hall experience at home. For this only one solution is LG Signature OLED R because of self-lighting pixel technology.

Equipped with Dolby Vision, IQ Processor and Dolby Atmos technologies, it will give real theater experience at home. It will also add interior beauty to the home because it is a 2.57 mm thickness TV, he said.

“We already started the OLED journey by launching 55 inch TVs. They are limited to a few households. This year we are having the smallest OLED (42 inches) and biggest (92 inches). It can be suitable to fit anywhere in the house and experience theater in their home,” Gireesan said.

Reacting on the screen burning issue, Gireesan said it happened in 2015-16. " We had some problems with screen burning in 2015-16, but we had a solution for that. Now all the TVs are safe and there is no burning problem," he said.

Priced Rs 75 lakh OLED R TVs are available in few stores across the country; he said we are not expecting much market this financial year. There are few good enquiries about the product, the company official said.

Gireesan said the company has already sold out dozen units across the country so far and expects 1000 units of sales this financial year 2022-23. Of them 150 from Telangana.
