Kolkata, Feb 26 (UNI) Khadya Sathi – the flagship food security scheme run by the West Bengal Government - has won the prestigious SKOCH Award.
The award was handed over to the State food commissioner, who is also the principal secretary of the Food and Supplies (F&S) Department, at a ceremony in New Delhi.
The Khadya Sathi Scheme envisages a system of systematic distribution of foodgrains across the state through the public distribution system (PDS), and for this, the government, through the F&S Department, has brought about end-to end reforms in the management of the PDS.
