Kalyani, Sunil Ahuja win Chandigarh Ranking TT titles

Chandigarh, Jul 15 (UNI) Reigning state champions Kalyani of PAG (Audit) Haryana and Sunil Ahuja of PAG (A& E) Punjab, won the women and men singles titles respectively of the 1st Chandigarh State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, played here at the Sector 50 Sports Complex on Monday.
Kalyani and Sunil Ahuja defeated Pelf of Learning Path School and Rishabh of Chandigarh respectively in a well contested final with set score 4-2 to win the title.
Earlier in the tournament, unseeded Pelf of Learning Path School created sensation by upsetting Pareen (second seeded) in the quarter finals of the women singles.
In the semi finals, Pelf defeated third seeded Deevanshi to reach the finals. In the final as well, she resisted well before losing in a well fought final match.
Deputy Accountant General, Vikash Kumar (IA and AS) was the Chief Guest and Heera Negi (Area Councillor) was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
