Kalaburagi Airport is ready for commercial operation: Kharge

Kalaburagi Airport is ready for commercial operation: Kharge

Kalaburagi, July 14 (UNI) Congress leader in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday said that the works of Airport, including the construction of the runway and the Air Traffic Control (ATC ) was completed and are planing to have trial landing if Air Authority of India give permission to it.
Addressing a press conference after inspecting the works, Mr Kharge, however, said that it may take little more time for the commercial operations. “Tenders have been called for Airport and ATC operations. The very purpose of a trial landing is to indicate that the airport is ready for operation. Then operators will naturally show interest in launching services. It will be a full-fledged airport with a 3-km-long and sophisticated runway that can handle even larger flights.”
Mr Kharge said that almost all works including electrification and water supplying would be complete before this October.
