New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday termed the lynching of a youth by a mob in Jharkhand as a "blot on humanity" and questioned the 'silence' of the top BJP leadership in the state and central government on the incident.
'The brutal lynching of this young man by a mob in Jharkhand is a blot on humanity. The cruelty of the police who held this dying boy in custody for 4 days is shocking as is the silence of powerful voices in the BJP ruled Central & State Govts,' Mr Gandhi tweeted.
Tabrez Ansari (24) died in Jharkhand after he was thrashed by a mob in the state for alleged theft. In a video which went viral on social media, he is seen being forced to chant "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman".
