IPL 2018: Bumrah's spell in death overs keeps hopes alive for playoffs

IPL 2018: Bumrah's spell in death overs keeps hopes alive for playoffs

Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Jasprit Bumrah's brilliant bowling spell in the death overs helped three time defending champions Mumbai Indians clinch victory against Kings XI Punjab by 3 runs in the 11th edition of the IPL here at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday keeping their hopes alive for the playoffs.

However, despite Punjab's Lokesh Rahul's powerful batting display of 94 runs they lost the match in a close contest.

Mumbai who scored 186/8 restricted Punjab at 183/5 keeping their hopes alive for the playoffs.

For MI it was due to efforts of Bumrah's 3/15 in 4 overs that pushed them towards victory.

From 13 matches this is MI's sixth win with 12 points, while Punjab after playing 13 matches have lost for the seventh time with 12 points. Both the teams will play their last match on May 20.

MI will take on Delhi Daredevils at Delhi while Punjab will play CSK at Pune.
