Indian culture is naturally secular: Gadkari

Nagpur, Oct 24 (UNI) Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said Indian culture is naturally secular, however, unfortunately in our country, the word 'secular' is claimed as the exclusive brand of a few political parties, groups or individuals.
Gadkari was speaking as the chief guest at the National Inter-Religious Conference organized by Lokmat Media Group in Nagpur on the theme “Global Challenges to Communal Harmony and Role of India” to mark the celebration of the golden jubilee year of its Nagpur edition.
It aimed at bringing together the views of different religions and sects.
He also said Indian society is a value based familial lifestyle comprising different religions.
The meanings/feelings of all spiritual gurus what they said today, is the same, he added.
He likened their (spiritual gurus) coming together on one stage, just like the confluence of all sacred rivers.
A galaxy of spiritual gurus like Sri Sri Ravishankar, Founder, The art of Living, Acharya Dr Lokeshmuni, Founder, Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Mumbai, Bhikkhu Sanghasena, Founder, Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre, Swami Ramdev, Founder, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Haridwar, Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin, Dargah Ajmer Sharif, and Brahmaviharidas Swami, Swaminarayan Sanstha( from US ) were present on this occasion.
