IAS officers' 'strike' row: AAP workers march to LG House

New Delhi, June 13 (UNI) With the standoff between the Aam Aadmi Party Government and the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi over the issue of 'strike' of IAS officers continuing for the third day on Wednesday, the party workers marched to the LG House.
All AAP leaders, MLAs, councillors and several volunteers started a march from CM House to LG House, at 1600 hrs to call on LG to end IAS officers' 'strike', take action against IAS officers who stall work and grant approval to home delivery of ration scheme.
Before the start of march, a large number of AAP volunteers gathered at CM House in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who, along with Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and two ministers in the AAP Government -- Gopal Rai and Satyendar Jain -- continued their sit-in protest for the third day on Wednesday over their demand to end the IAS Officers' 'strike' and approval of the doorstep delivery of ration.
Former Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha also joined AAP volunteers to participate in the March to LG House.
Mr Kejriwal and his three cabinet ministers--Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai and Satyendar Jain-- have been staging a sit-in at the Lieutenant Governor's office since 1730 hrs on Monday over their demand to end the IAS officers' 'strike' and approval of the doorstep delivery of ration.
A day after Mr Jain started indefinite fast to press for the AAP Government's demands, the Deputy Chief Minister also started indefinite fast on Wednesday at Raj Niwas over the same.
'Delhi Deputy CM @msisodia begins indefinite fast at Raj Niwas. @SatyendarJain's fast enters second day,' the AAP tweeted on Wednesday.
Mr Kejriwal in a fresh tweet said, ' Central govt using IAS officers as a tool to provoke rebellion against an elected govt.'
'Aren’t IAS officers merely tools being used by Modi govt to scuttle good work being done by Del govt? Is it possible for IAS officers to return to work without green signal from PMO?,' Mr Kejriwal tweeted earlier on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel has also lent support to the AAP Government's demands and wrote to Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal asking him to end the IAS officers' strike.
Mr Kejriwal, along with three ministers, had gone to meet the Lieutenant Governor on Monday evening at Raj Niwas around 1730 hrs with his demands.
The Delhi Chief Minister and the ministers are at Raj Niwas since Monday evening and will stay in the waiting room in the LG House till the latter meets their demands.
The AAP Government Ministers on Monday demanded Mr Baijal to direct the IAS officers who are on 'strike' in Delhi for past four months to return to work. They have also demanded that the LG punish those officers who struck work for last four months.
The Chief Minister and the AAP ministers also demanded the LG to approve Delhi government's doorstep delivery of ration scheme.
However, in a statement on Monday, the LG denied that the IAS officers are on 'strike'. The LG House also said the file pertaining to the delivery of rations is pending with the Food and Civil Supplies Minister, not the LG.
