HP to bring policy for controlled cultivation of Cannabis: CM

Shimla, Mar 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh government will frame a policy soon for controlled cultivation of hemp in the state to strengthen economy, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who also hold the portfolio of finance and home ,said in the house while replying to a private member's resolution in the state legislative assembly on Friday.
"The quality of hemp here is among the best in the world however as far as it's consumption and sale is concerned state is against use Cannabis to convert it into charas and other narcotics substance ." Mr Thakur said.
He said that baring this negative component there is another aspect to the herbs as it have cherismatic Medicinal application need to explore further.
