HP Landslide causes 4 of family getting buried alive with trains too suspended on Kalka-Shimla section

Solan, Aug 13 (UNI) Unremitting rains played havoc across the district as at least four persons, including two children, buried alive following triggering of a landslide at Chakla village in Hinner panchayat under Kandaghat sub-division in this district, last night.
Meanwhile, the movements of all up and down trains on World heritage Kalka-Shimla railway section has been suspended following triggering of landslides at different places between Koti and Shimla railway station. The flash flood also leads to caving in of newly constructed retaining wall of Sadhupul bridge, connecting tourist destination Chail from Kandaghat.
The deceased were identified as Devender (30), his wife Poonam(28) and his 7 year daughter and 4 year old son. Bodies of the deceased were sent for postmortem examination to regional hospital Solan.

Itanagar, Mar 29 (UNI) In a repeat of previous poll outcomes, the hilly Northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is ‘set’ to witness seven candidates from ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, getting elected 'unopposed' to the 11th Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh, 'without a contest'.
After ‘complete’ scrutiny of nominations filed for all 60 Assembly Constituencies, including the ‘adjourned’ scrutiny of papers done for Itanagar and Daporijo seats today, altogether seven validly nominated BJP candidates were found to be opponent free, and they are likely to be declared elected unopposed on Saturday after the last date of withdrawal of candidature, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu said.
