Hong Kong protest: Student fell from car park, dies

Beijing, Nov 8 (UNI) A student of Hong Kong university who suffered a severe brain injury after he fell from car park during anti- government protests, died on Friday morning.
Chow Tsz-lok, a second year computer science undergraduate at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, reportedly fell from the third floor to the second floor of a car park in New Territories district of Tseung Kwan O on Monday morning, while police were trying to disperse the protesters with rounds of tear gas.
The 22-year-old had been in coma since Monday where he died of cardiac arrest, South China Morning Post reported.
The precise circumstances of how Chow came to be injured are unclear but he found lying unconscious in a pool of blood inside a car park.
Protesters claimed that he fell while trying to avoid tear gas that had been fired by police to disperse them. But the police deny any involvement in the incident, claiming he was found a substantial distance from where they had been firing tear gas.
Meanwhile, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology issued a statement urging students to stay calm and exercise restraint and to avoid conflicts at this moment.
