Agartala, Jun 25 (UNI) A pall of gloom descended in Holakhet village of Udaipur in Gomati district even as the bodies of a 8 year-old boy and his 75-year old grandmother were recovered from a pond.
According to police Sagar Majumdar (8) had gone to bathe at a pond near his house at Holakhet. As the hours passed by and he did not return, his grandmother Suniti Majumdar (75) went out in his search.
On reaching the pond, she saw her grandson floating in the pond and she jumped instinctively into the pond to save him, but she also drowned in her attempt. Later, the family members found both the bodies floating in the pond.
The Fire Service recovered both the bodies and sent them to Gomati District Hospital.
After postmortem the bodies were handed over to the family.
