New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) In an embarrassment for the Railways, a Shramik Special train headed for Gorakhpur left Mumbai on May 21 and ended up at Rourkela in Odisha, a video shared by passengers on Twitter revealed.
However, a senior Railway Ministry official here said some Shramik trains were being run on diverted routes and a few trains were diverted to Bihar via Rourkela on Friday to clear the congestion.
Meanwhile, the Western Railway said in a statement, "It is to inform that Vasai Road-Gorakhpur Shramik Special train, which departed on May 21 was to run on Kalyan-Jalgoan-Bhusaval-Khandwa-Itarsi-Jabalpur-Manikpur route but this train will go to Gorakhpur by diverted route via Bilaspur (SECR), Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Adra, Asansol (ER) due to heavy traffic congestion on existing routes."
