Four Railway hospitals to provide medical services to beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana

Hyderabad, Nov 21 (UNI) Four Railway Hospitals on the jurisdiction of South-Central Railway (SCR) will provide Medical facilities to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat Yojana--Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM JAY).
Now, the eligible members of Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme can avail the medical facilities at the Railway Hospitals, an SCR statement here said on Friday.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been entered into between Ministry of Railways and National Health Agency under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to provide medical facilities to the eligible beneficiaries of Ayushman Bharat yojana.
The four hospitals are Central Hospital, Lallaguda, Secunderabad, Divisional Railway Hospital, Vijayawada, Divisional Railway Hospital, Guntakal, and Divisional Railway Hospital, Nanded.
PM-JAY provides a cover of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year, for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization. Over 10.74 crore vulnerable entitled families (approximately 50 crore beneficiaries) are eligible for these benefits.
It also provides cashless and paperless access to services for the beneficiary at the point of service. PM-JAY will help reduce expenditure for hospitalizations, which impoverishes people and will help mitigate the financial risk arising out of catastrophic health episodes.
Entitled families will be able to use the quality health services they need without facing financial hardships, the statement added.
