Former Delhi Assembly Speaker Maninder Singh Dhir dies

New Delhi, Sep 17 (UNI) Former Delhi Assembly Speaker Maninder Singh Dhir passed away at a hospital here on Monday morning.

He was 66.

Almost one and a half month's back, he had suffered paralysis following which he was treated at Moolchand Hospital. Later, he returned home.

He was admitted to Max Hospital last night after his health condition deteriorated. The former Speaker breathed his last at 0900 hrs this morning.

Dhir was the Speaker of the Fifth Legislative Assembly of Delhi during 2013-2014.

Delhi Assembly Speaker, Ram Niwas Goel, has expressed grief at the passing away of Dhir.

The former Speaker was elected from the Jangpura constituency.
