Facebook reverses ban on news pages in Australia

Canberra, Feb 23 (UNI) Facebook announced on Tuesday that it will reverse its ban and restore news content to its users in Australia.
The tech giant had blocked news to Australians on its platform since last Thursday, amid a dispute with the Australian government over a proposed law, which would force it and Google to pay Australian news publishers for the content.
Australian Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg had told him the ban would end ''in the coming days,'' after the pair held talks over the issue, BBC reported.
