Ex-Ambala Municipality member held for brandishing revolver

Ambala, Nov 8 (UNI) A former of the Municipal Corporation, Ambala, was arrested by Maheshnagar police on Thursday, after he allegedly threatened residents by showing his licensed revolver.
According to sources, MC member Onkar Nathi had gone to a street of Shiv Pratap Nagar, where his son with other boys had allegedly created nuisance and tried to scare the residents of locality, who had objected to the unruly action of the youth.
One of the residents Surinder Kumar, an official from the District Excise and Taxation department, too had objected and asked the boys to go away. But the boys, who were in an inebriated state, didn't listen to him and continued to make noise. At this, Kumar beat up Nathi’s son with club, to scare away the boys.
Meanwhile, Nathi’s son called up his father, who reached the spot and started arguing in favour of his son.
After heated arguments, the former MC took out his revolver and threatened that he would fire, if anybody dared to harm his son and himself.
The residents, including Surinder, called the police, who registered case against Nathi under Sections 25, 188, 323 and 506 IPC for threatening, by showing revolver.
Meanwhile, Nathi reached the civil hospital with his son, where an MLR was issued and went to the PS and showed copy of MLR, but he alleged that no action was taken by the police.
