Due to demonetisation, banks were in loss first time after Independence: Akhilesh

Varanasi, Nov 8 (UNI) Terming demonetisation as ‘biggest failure’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government, Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav here on Thursday said that due to demonetisation all banks were in loss first time after Independence.

Addressing the gathering here at Gowardhan Puja Mahotsava, Mr Yadav said, "middle and lower class people had submitted old notes in bank after demonetisation was announced two years back, however many capitalists utilised the opportunity and ran away with huge money."

Mr Yadav claimed that lakhs of youth got unemployed and small and medium businessman were destroyed. He said that farmers, service class, businessmen, traders and others faced problems due to unplanned and immature decision of demonetisation.

He asked that the public to vote out Bhartatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2019 Lok Sabha Elections and alleged that similar issues may rise if BJP comes into power again.
