Dreaded criminal Furkan shot dead in encounter in Shamli

Shamli, Aug 5 (UNI) Mohammad Furkan, a criminal carrying a reward of Rs one lakh, was killed in a broad daylight police encounter in Shamli on Wednesday.
According to police, the encounter occurred at 3 p.m. in the forests of Rangana village in the Jhinjhana area, about 16 km from the district headquarters.
Upon seeing the police, the criminal opened fire with five rounds from a carbine and a pistol. A policeman was shot in the stomach during the encounter.

Indian Railways allows PwDs with UDID cards to travel in designated unreserved coaches

Panchkula, Aug 11 (UNI) The Railway Board has clarified that persons with disabilities (PwDs) holding valid Unique Disability ID (UDID) cards can travel in unreserved coaches earmarked for PwDs on suburban sections and ordinary passenger trains even if they have not been granted concessional fare by the Railways.
