New Delhi, Jul 31 (UNI) Raising serious concerns over the rising number of cancer patients in the country, lawmakers in the Rajya Sabha during the short duration discussion on Cancer on Wednesday urged the Government to set up a Cancer hospital in each district of the country and at least in those areas where it is more rampant.
"The menace is spreading like cholera and plague killing thousands of people every year," Samajwadi Party Member Vishwambhar Prasad Nishad said and added that Cancer is the worst disease in the world.
He said that usage of polythene bags and mobile phones increases instances of Cancer. Its treatment is very costly affair and poor, farmers are not be able to afford the treatment, therefore, the Government should provide the treatment and medicines to those poor patients at the district level hospitals.
