DBRAIT Student Crisis; Andaman CS forms High-Level Committee of senior officers

Port Blair, Sep 30 (UNI) On the issue of Police action on protesting students of Dr B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Keshav Chandra has constituted a High-Level Committee of senior officers of A&N Administration.
On September 28, 2022 night, the Andaman and Nicobar Police used physical force and water cannon to disperse protesting students of DBRAIT from the Dairy Farm main road area of Port Blair city and when the police failed to do so, the department used tear gas to disperse students, leaving many students struggling to even breath and a few senseless for couple of moments.
This act of Police was highly criticized by all political parties and civil society.
