Rome, Feb 27 (UNI) Several European countries announced new cases of coronavirus traced to Italy, rising the number of cases to 400.
The vast majority of the cases remain in China.
The rise in Italy, the main focus of infection in Europe, represents a 25 per cent surge in 24 hours, says a BBC news report.
There are international efforts being done to control the deadly outbreak.
According to a statement on Wednesday, World Health Organization said that for the first time the virus was spreading faster outside China, where it originated.
Globally, more than 80,000 people in about 40 countries have been infected with the new coronavirus, which emerged in December.
