Corona mayhem in Jharkhand: Another 738 patients detected on Saturday as overall tally goes to 12,104

Ranchi, Aug 1 (UNI) Coronavirus patients tally on Saturday went beyond 12,000-mark as a total of 738 patients were detected in Jharkhand.
On Saturday a total of 738 cases of Coronavirus were detected across the 21 districts of Jharkhand following which overall tally has now reached to 12,104.
During the day 4 deaths were reported including 2 from Hazaribagh 1 each from Ramgarh and Garhwa districts after which the overall death count has gone up to 114 in the state. The increase in fatalities has increased the mortality rate to 0.93 per cent.

As per the data provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 7,477 while the number of cured and discharged cases stood at 4,513. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 114.

During the day a maximum number of 161 patients were detected in Deoghar followed by 139 in Ranchi and 76 in Dhanbad. 38 patients in Ramgarh, 34 in Koderma, 33 in Saraikela and 32 each in Hazaribagh and Khunti were also found during the day.

28 patients each in Garhwa and Giridih districts, 26 in Sahebganj, 22 in West Singhbhum, 18 each in Dumka and Gumla, 15 each in Godda and Jamtara, 13 in East Singhbhum, 5 in Bokaro, 3 in Chatra and 1 each in Palamu and Pakur were also detected positive for Covid-19 on Saturday.

On Saturday a total of 170 people were cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid-19 facilities in the state including 78 from Ranchi followed by 35 from Palamu. 11 people from Girish, 9 each from Simdega, Chatra and Koderma, 7 from Sahebganj and 6 each from Saraikela and Bokaro also defeated Coronavirus and returned to their homes.

Due to the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has plummeted further to 37.28 per cent in Jharkhand.

So far in the state 3,21,802 samples have been collected out of which 3,07,363 have been tested and 2,95,259 have turned out to be negative.

The data further pointed out that the number of travellers under surveillance and asymptomatic was at 5,596 while people those who have completed 28 days of compulsory observation stood at 4,333. The number of people in facility quarantine was at 5,892 while those in home quarantine was 2,43,150.

all the four accused, including a government advocate, to surrender forthwith for spitting
on a lady doctor at a Covid centre two weeks ago and told police to conduct Test
Identification (TI) parade immediately.
